Venture out to Coles County in East Central Illinois to meet a hidden side of Lincoln spanning most of his life:
- In this countryside he built an adult relationship with his father and step-mother;
- Lincoln, the Great Emancipator, represented a slave-owner for the only time in his career;
- He declared his beliefs on racial inequality and slavery in the fourth Lincoln-Douglas Debate;
- As President, he was confronted here by Copperheads in the Charleston Riot during the Civil War.
